Watch Out! Teenagers Are Taking Over the World

greg_grossman.jpgIn the news recently: A 13-year-old runs a startup website called NetNewsDaily.com, a news aggregator that earns he and his partner about 150 British pounds (they're based in Scotland) each month from advertising.

This reminded me of another story in the news recently: A 14-year-old celebrity chef just signed a deal for his own reality TV show.

Both of these stories are a great way to make me feel old.

The celeb chef, Greg Grossman, has been catering parties in East Hampton, NY, since he was 11. He does cooking demos, has a cookbook in the works, and has been invited to cook with uber-chefs Grant Achatz and Eric Ripert. And now, apparently, he's going to star in his very own TV show. How...adorable.

I have to admit, though, I'm curious. Is his food really any good? Is he mature enough and professional enough to actually be cooking in high-profile kitchens and catering swanky art gallery parties, or is this just another gimmick? I guess I'll have to tune in and find out.

What do you think -- can this kid really be that talented, or is he just another flash-in-the-pan in the food world?
